The Umbrella Sequence

The Umbrella Sequence has been described as an electropop band, which is probably what made me listen to them in the first place. I'm a sucker for anything that bleeps and/or bloops. Like soft-hearted robots, for example. It's true that they have a Flaming-Lips-esque synth element to them, but that doesn't tell the whole story. They're more than that. Singer Ryan Rupprecht sounds like a less-desperate Thom Yorke, and I think it's the drums that drive their sound, not the keyboards. Each song I've heard has a mood of it's own, and each instrument reflects that. It's not just a new button on the keyboard that makes each one different. Plus their logo is an amazing feat of graphic design.
